some kind of weak reaction (no reaction at all) to the person who defeated the dark lord... so he is still the head of an ancient family, a member of Wisegmoth... nothing special is felt in him (this can be seen from the sluggish reaction).. Such a feeling that his only achievement is the number of wives and children. Even Lucius Malfoy received more attention on this platform (and Lucius' origin would be much weaker). as if he is an empty place (there is no other way to say it... after all, such a seemingly famous, strong and influential person has such a weak response from those around him...)
But then it should have been the same for Harry Potter when he came the first time to diagon alley. Remember, the wizzarding world is small and the rumors there spread fast.
