The cultivation system is controlled by the author too much, the time the MC cultivated compared to the number of months he got and his breakthrough do not match, now he will breakthrough when he needs, meaning the author will let him breakthrough for plot rather than on a schedule of some kind that will match his progress. It completely invalidates the cultivation he gets from plants, it could be 3 month worth or 20 years, he will only breakthrough if the plot needs it.
