It's an interesting dynamic right now. They aren't outwardly hostile with each other, but there is a wariness and lack of trust. And honestly, even though Dominik isn't a bad person, the fact that he aided in Ivan's plan to kidnap her and now Dominik's hands are tied in helping her... it doesn't make Dominik look like he is very capable of protecting her. It feels like he is bailing water out of a sinking ship, the sentiment is nice, but not enough. If I were Vanessa, I wouldn't be feeling super hopeful.
