I believe you might have overlooked the training chapters. Please remember that his guardians have passed away. What do you think would have happened if Wuyi, not as strong as he is, had come across the children in the forest just as he did? What actions might they have taken? I suggest revisiting the earlier chapters, particularly those detailing the training sessions and Gao's influence on the children. Wuyi doesn't act out of righteousness; he holds no personal animosity towards these children. He requires an exceptionally large amount of energy for the statues, the purpose of which will be explained in the upcoming chapter
