Great fanfic. I got a question. I got interested in the whole sword incarnate thing, I looked it up and I found that the only reason Shiro possessed that was because he had Sabers sheath inside of him. Having sword as his element and origin was a strength that he used as a basis to overcome his mediocre aptitude for magecraft and surpass his limits by creating unlimited blade works along with decades of training and upgrade from the ‘world’ when he name a counterguardian. It always seemed strange that he used his element and origin to surpass his limits as a mage and not as a warrior. Martial arts in typemoon has proven able to surpass magecraft after all. For example Sasaki Kojiro whose performed a skill only thought possible with true magic or Miyamoto Musashi who cuts even concepts with her skill. Those born with the concept of breathing and walking can reproduce greater Mysteries than the Magi without knowing anything about Magecraft. Or Okita alters movement technique furthest earth that allows her to dimension hope. I assumed his affinity for swords meant he’d be able to pioneer his own skills into the realm of the gods like those mentioned. It never made sense that copying downgraded skills through his magecrafts was his limit.
This is an interesting question. One I thought about a lot. Looking at the series Archer never seemed to have developed this type of skill in his life.We can only try to guess the answers as Shirou's storylines never mentioned learning the concept of breathing and walking. Only caster's master Kuzuki seems to have a little bit of proficiency in this type of skill.As for the reasons, there are some I can think of. Having sword as origin does not mean that the person would have godly talent as a swordsman. It means that his urge or instinct or instinctive action that comes from their consciousness or soul will be that of a sword. This means he or she will likely find themselves drawn to combat, to be used by someone until broken. Shirou/Archer is drawn to combat, Archer was used for the sake of others until he was broken.A warrior is guardian specializing in combat/warfare. They are who uses weapons like swords. They train and improve their skills overtime. They take pride in their abilities, their roles, their ideals and beliefs.Shirou never takes pride in anything he does. Everything he does is so that someone else can be saved even at the cost of his own life. To Shirou strength is all about having just enough power to save everyone.Shirou does not have godly talent as a swordsman simply because his affinity is sword.Shirou could develop skills like Sasaki's Noble phantasm or Okita by training just like they did. But he would need to trace their swords to learn the method. Also spend time mastering the technique.As for other similar techniques they are kept in exetreme secrecy by the respective holders.Considering Shirou and Archers thought process, instead of wasting a lot of time practicing such a skill if they manage to even find one, they would rather stick to abilities that they can master more quickly so that they can save as many people as they can.Note - Having origin sword does not mean that Shirou will ultimately be used and discarded as a weapon. It is simply an instinctive guidence born from their soul's starting point from the root. He can Shirou how to live his life. Following their origin is simply a choice in the end. Because Shirou is a human being at the end of the day.This is proven at the Heaven's feel true ending when Shirou realises that despite everything that happened to him, he wants to live when Illya comes to save him by sacrificing herself.
