I love this story and really want to keep giving stones and viting and opening chapters, but I got burned before when authors absndon stories. So I check how often they update and their previous work’s hustory. I really encourage the author to not give up as I’d genuinely like to see how this all concludes but previous stories don’t appear finished and the updates seem slow. I’ll check back in a few weeks to see if the story expanded past 40 chapters. Truly encouraging author to complete this story as you have great characters.

I definitely own up to the fact that my updates are a bit slow due to various things that are going on in my personal life, but I'm always striving to do better!
