Overused plot line. MC training for a bad future in a bad world, a future anyone with two brain cells can tell is coming, everyone else: Oh no MC, you are training so hard, why are you doing this? while the world quickly gets darker. Like, really? The worse part, you see it in almost every novel where the MC is capable and gains power quickly to protect everyone.
