Comments of chapter undefined of Fallout Game Merchant

I really didn't like this chapter, it's a bit stupid how easily the MC could just be all friendly with a bunch of total strangers and approach them without any precautions, and how even if he was suspicious about the two guards, he let his guard down and got shot like that while sleeping. But what really annoys me is that he basically saves that family's life by killing the bad guys and saves that kid by using that super stimpack and he just gets nothing out of it, isn't he supposed to be a merchant? He should charge them for his services and goods used to save them. I'm sorry if anyone finds my comment offensive, but that's just how this chapter made me feel
