14 A bummer For Kolosy

Crey was wondering aloud while doing all sorts of movements, like jumping, punching, kicking, etc. But suddenly the system rang the announcement which sounded in the empty arena.

'Match start!'

Kio or Kolosy in the real world was confused as he saw his opponent mumbling randomly during the pre-match time. He was shocked at first but then understood that it was some newbie who is here to check things out. Kio reached that verdict because this newbie is unaware that his opponent could hear him too during the pre-match time.

Just before the timer for the last second went out, Kio smiled as he decided to give this newbie an unforgettable gift. This game is already very hard, and he himself is at the bottom of things here therefore a newbie like him is the allure for a low base player like him who is the only one getting beaten around here.

"Oi, Kid. Come here and I will teach you some basics! "

There was a look of a predator in his eyes as he lunged toward the innocent prey in front of him. He was brimming with excitement to pin down and torture the newbie that had arrived in his web unknowingly in this damned game.

Just as the wild man shouted, he dashed towards the confused Crey who was still in the middle of jumping and stretching.

"Huh?"

Crey heard his opponent and then turned to look just in time to see a punch coming at him at full speed. The air friction from the force behind that punch was so real that he could feel the sting of air on his cheek. His eyes narrowed at the last moment.

"Thump!"

Kio felt the satisfying touch of his punch making contact with the face of Crey. The full force shifted from his fist to the face of the opponent as he got the rush of excitement in his heart that one gets while crushing the enemy. He was waiting for him to get tossed away like a bouncing ball when something unexpected happened.

The force behind his punch began to diminish as he felt like he wasn't hitting a human but an immovable sturdy wall. Kio saw his punch halt right where it had connected with the cheek of a newbie as he wasn't able to hurt his face a little, forget about tossing him away.

"Ouch!"

Crey muttered as he glimpsed at Kio right in his eyes, who in an abrupt movement opened the distance between them. He lifted his hand and caressed his face. Unexpectedly, his plain white mask was just an illusion-type thing, as the punch connected right with his bare cheek. Crey nodded to himself as it made sense as cosmetics like a mask wouldn't stand a chance in such high-power fights.

But right now he was thinking about the pain. Clearly, the force he felt was completely real but the pain he felt was quite more than he expected from that level of strength. He had already expected his first opponent to be weak, therefore skipped training to get used to the game with help of him.

Since he gathered that a newbie like him would surely get matched with a loser at the bottom of things at his first attempt. At this moment he realized that the unexpected pain was maybe due to a parameter he had changed before the start - the pain sensitivity from default fifty percent to the hundred percent.

"Damn! I shouldn't have messed with that parameter."

Crey muttered and right at the moment, a kick appeared from his flank. He lifted his hand to block the kick and felt the rush of air passing through him. Kio, who was getting furious due to his failure, had no time to think as he continued his barrage of relentless attacks. The fight quickly turned into rapid hand-to-hand exchanges with Kio giving his all and Crey just blocking his every move without retaliating.

In between, Crey raised his arm to block his spinning kick and deflected Kio's other hand which was on its way to chop on his neck. If the quick punches and kicks were not enough, suddenly Kio fished out a knife from nowhere and stabbed at the unguarded back of Crey as he was busy blocking.

"Now block it, dumb ass!"

Crey twisted his leg but instead of obstructing the knife, he instead kicked, for the first time, at the exposed shin of Kio. The kick and knife connected at the same time but the mad opponent failed to realize that the kick was aimed perfectly at his center of gravity. Due to this, he failed to shove his knife deeper as he fell to the ground, after losing his footing. Crey leisurely backed off as he checked the wound on his spine.

"Damn! It's just a scratch, but it hurts like a deep cut. This game has few issues in these matters I think. "

"You? You? How dare you…

Kio lost his judgment to the raging madness after being countered easily by an obvious newbie. He, bamboozled in anger, stood up again while grinding his teeth. He clenched his fist but knowing it was of no use, then tried to calm himself down by taking a deep breath.

"Come at me, if you dare. Is blocking all you got? " Getting himself back a little, Kio cried out at 'Spinningowl' in a mocking cum irritated tone.

Crey wasn't the least bit interested in comforting his opponent down. Also, he was not in any rush to end the match as he was still getting used to quick combat in this augmented reality. Not physically moving your limbs but mimicking the commands in your mind alone to get the same results here, is certainly a lot weird and mystical for the first-time user.

"You, what is your pain sensitivity?" Instead, Crey asked.

Kio was caught off-guard by his question, but instead of replying he rushed at Crey. This time his mind was a little clearer than before, thus knowing not to commit any foolish mistakes like an exposed leg. He raised his titanium knife and slashed at the Crey.
