To be fair, Gohan doesn't need a ship. He can fly directly to the last island. He can never give it his all in a fight or he risks destroying the planet. Whether it's Yonko or Admiral, he can crush them with one finger. If there's really a character of DBZ who goes to the one piece world, it's world domination achieved in one week.

Slice of life is good to establish a character or show how he develops in both power & experience or even in thinking
