First he brought it on by treating others rudely. Secondly, their reaction was very edge, especially considering that the MC will be a "treasure" for the league with the pokemons he has.

He deserved it he could have made friends with 2 nice people from powerful families and instead he just decided to be a jerk cause he was feeling lazy. Now we'll have to try to give them a better opinion of him.
