End Note: Liu Er is more along the lines of bashing fanfic mc. Originally he started off as a true CN honghuang mc riff. But a few chapters back I wrote him swearing in Jesus’ name and I realized, a chinese person won’t say that, they’d say “heavens”. So I backtracked and made him follow the bashing fanfic mc formula which itself is pretty similar to honghuang mc. He’s the type of person who needs to punch down on others to make himself feel better and justify his failures by pretending they didn’t happen. His greatest flaw is that he thinks he knows all about everyone in the Primitive World’s setting because he’s read honghuang stories, MTL stories as this chapter shows so he actually misunderstands alot. He hence lacks critical thinking due to this ‘belief in self omniscience’ and follows common rhetoric constantly repeated by all the webnovels he’d read. Liu Er also is speaking the language of the godfiends instinctively. Unlike the knowledge of cultivation which is applied knowledge that he has to get use to, his ability to speak the godfiend language is a natural unconscious reflex to what other people speaks. Since he doesn’t think too deeply about the setting, because of his assumption that he knows everything already, he doesn’t realize this. He thinks he’s speaking english which is why he made that ‘Fur and armour’ statement. He translated mtl in his head in a way that made no sense to the inhabitants of the Primitive World.
