I just watched Pacific Rim: Uprising. Newton was able to make Obsidian Fury without Liwen Shao’s knowledge, and control the mass-produced Jaeger/Kaiju drones. Obsidian Fury was piloted by a Kaiju secondary brain that Newton made on Earth. It’s kinda nice that Gypsy Avenger got Obsidian Fury’s dual blades after it was taken down. I’m not sure if a full Kaiju brain or just a secondary brain is needed to Kaiju drift though. Titan Redeemer’s flail seemed to knock back Mega-Kaiju’s head back which I didn’t expect, plus the number of missiles and the turret it has seemed to dissuade a Kaiju from getting at it from behind. Amara Namani was able to create Scrapper by using scrap and decommissioned Jaeger parts, who Liwen Shao later remotely piloted with her technology. Apparently, Pacific Rim 3 was cancelled due to Uprising underperforming. And Jake Pentecost even said in Uprising to Newton that next, they’re coming to the Precursors. Apparently, Gottleib only researched the Thruster Pods for Jaegers in Uprising, after the closing of the rift. According to the Wiki, the Precursors’ goal was the active volcanoes from the beginning. After thinking about it, why wouldn’t these aliens that have been around for so long not know that the Kaiju blood reacts explosively with rare Earth elements? Especially if the aliens have colonized planets like this before. What I’m saying is that there’s quite a lot of plot holes, but then again, it’s probably been a while since you’ve watched the movies. Yeah, I just checked the movie, they’ve been targeting the volcanoes since the beginning. I only watched the 1st and 2nd movies.
