If I have to give my two cents, I don't think Lin Zhi will make it any further. The author has already set up a bit of vendetta with a couple other people and I believe the best way to deal with him, is with a final confrontation between himself and his past and ending that nightmare once and for all. But then again, these are my two cents and I have no problem being proven wrong.
