I feel like you're severely underestimating the magic in Planetos. If you check the lore, it's pretty obvious the world used to be a High Fantasy World, but the Doom put an end to that.

sincerely, i dont see difference between magic and deus ex machine plot. why using magic if all things that you try, you can do with perfect and has the most part of the gains at least one magic system take one new and interesting development for the history.

Why is there no technology upgrade for this land. Can he seriously not distill some wine and beer to make brandy and whiskey, or get some lime stone for some cement. Maybe even create a school or a watermill. It seems like he is wasting his advantage as a transmigrater and is leaving a lot of the improving his land to his children who don’t have the same knowledge advantage as him.

That’s honestly a scary prospect, and makes sense why the horn wasn’t used (had a good chance of killing your own people) if the leviathan summoned is even natural they’re still huge
