Oh come on you've got a bloody primarch on the scenes. Once I could see missing an ambush but the guys are literally walking tactical supercomputers that move faster than the speed of sound and think at such inhuman speed as to make even that look like slow motion. A bat wouldn't be able to get past a primarch much less a hunter spec primarch literally used to tracking and even further enhanced senses. a flock might get one through but still this is raising severe doubts about your mc's capabilities.
