Master_Celestial:I agree with the other commenter. It was said that he fought in a Great War and was a general. In a single battle thousands to hundreds of thousands would have likely die. If he really cared about each life and tried to save them, he would either have died, broken down mentally from his guilt and sense of responsibility or become distanced to others and indifferent about human casualties. He wouldn‘t have survived that and stayed sane.
