Now that I think about it, could it be the reason too why Oriana was warned by her grandpa to stay away from the Capital or from the royal family? If we put some pieces together, Oriana is Arlan's betrothed and the evil witch (whoever she is) would do anything to harm anyone close to Arlan. Arlan, on the other hand was probably brainwashed by the evil witch that it was the Verner's who killed his mother. While Phil, trying to protect his only family did everything to hide Oriana's identity and kept her away from the capital or royal family because of the threat from Arlan and the evil witch (who had no idea that Oriana is the queen of all witches). Just really my wild imagination here trying to make my own scscen ahhahaha! Which is why I love this book because the subsequent stories are so unpredictable!😍
My heart wanted to believe that all the cruel words Arlan said to innocent Ori are just for a show. Now that his betrothed is found, this is his way of saving Ori from the evil witch. Just like the way he has sent his sister away from the palace. This must be the reason, right? Now, that evil witch is getting on my nerves! 😡
