I think that he was intended to be a nightmare creature, but something went wrong in the process.
I'm leaning more to high level player coz of that machine voice but never know, he's definitely not just "human"
I suspect that the asylum he was put in is part of the nightmare cycle and he was a high level player who was unexpectedly trapped in that cycle
I honestly was thinking he can be a nightmare creature or player that successfully passed and came back
Maybe half a naightmare creature, this half is probably the reason for the half missing soul at leats thats what it seems like
