Even if China gets Taiwan's semiconductor factories they will still suck at making semiconductors. They already have the capabilities to make semiconductors, they lack the technical ability. The Chinese phones, well pretty much anything not budget, is already years ahead of Apple. Apple is a marketing company not a technology company, hasn't been one for over a decade. The American dollar is not going to be replaced as the world currency. To much debt caught up in it to change, to many countries hold to much of it for them to want it to change, even China. But I guess that gets you 50 social credit, so good on you.P.S America is most likely to self destruct by 2040. That is actually a bad thing for the world, especially China.
Apple from the very beginning was not a technology company, they aimed to use existing technologies to make a premium product. Only brand loyalty and UI, with a healthy dose of delusion and world wide tax fraud, keep them making boat loads of money. Money they struggle to access due to countries around the world, not happy with apple not paying tax. Lots of verifiable information about all their dodgy dealings available. If it wasn't for the monopoly laws in the US, laws they only enforce when they want to, apple would be a foot note in history. Only the advent of the iPod saved them, again technology that was already available but poorly marketed.
nwix:I think Apple is both a marketing and a technology company, they somehow balanced them right (in making profits at least). They make good enough products and managed to make them just right, and priced them very high but because of their reputation and customer loyalty, and basically no competition because of how their products were designed, they still managed to make huge profits every year.
Besides all of that, I also struggle with ADHD, and now I'm 25 years old. I dropped out of law school in the last year and switched to computer science, only to discover that the problem wasn't the course, but rather my mental state. Now I live with my grandparents, and my personality is no different from that of an 18-year-old. I'm completely screwed.
Sorry about the nitpick, but syntax errors should not be the ones any decent programmer screams at. Syntax errors are the ‘you made a typo’ kind of error, and development editors generally highlight them as you type. Failed unit tests, segmentation faults or libraries with no documentation would be more realistic.
