I honestly think it is one of the, at least in my humble opinion, possible wishes to make, because I believe that all superpowers are achievable with intelligence and wisdom.

his wish might just save his life and his family...part of his wish was unlimited knowledge, so he might be able to know everything that happens, could happen, and would happen in existance

Yea..... so his sister is obviously smarter than him. What will wisdom do if people can blow you up from miles away? Or blow up mountains? Wisdom will do jack nothing. His wish..... somewhat better, but its still mostly depends on the author making sure it helps, very limited and really good. If the author thinks of something decent, a reader will come up with something good and constantly think the MC is wasting his ability... well lets hope its not the case.
