It would make sense for Bard to acquire a faceless sealed artifact since he is connected to Loki who was in bureau 8 since they have beyonders in the fool pathway wouldn’t be to suspicious if one died on a mission

I suspect they did such things to fulfil advancement conditions to seq 5. Each person was assigned a role that would align with their ritual. Or maybe it was to help one of them advance while accomplishing another goal
