Dang, if Reimund is dead then Lumian may have inadvertently helped to kill his friend. That's tough. I was waiting for the actual personal motivation for the MC and I guess this is the first one.

This "leaving the loop as a corpse" make me thinking if you could pull that off and revived outside the village. For example if you're completely frozen or die temporaly.

I hope reimund get out of the village safely and not triggering the cycle because it was during the ritual .

Alp (without an e) is another word for Elf in German. But Alp or Alb is older and nowadays it's only used in combination with "Traum" meaning dream. Alptraum/Albtraum means nightmare in German. Quite fitting, don't you think? But it's not limited to Switzerland. You say it in Germany and Austria as well.

that was on my mind, Reimund's disappearence might indeed be the key to solving the loop. Something also tells me that Lumian is the reason this loop exists in the first place, just a hunch
