wow,that punishment is illogical in one way because if headmaster had a brain(when the author is saying he is not yet affected) why would he give a punishment of only demotion when it's a happy moment for commoners to even be in the worst class and even knowing the fact that he will be the best student in that demoted class for his abilities are still the same
Yup, the punishment made no sense. He is undoubtedly better than everyone there and if classes are based on ability, then he's far above that class. The fact that he hasn't been expelled means that they still want to raise him and putting him in a class below his abilities will only hinder that. The ideal scenario would be to give him some type of tough service to complete aside from his regular classes in class A.
