Don't choose spear. It would look cool with daggers but I can't say for Edward. his character annoy me very much because of his wingman attitude and yes he had biggest trash personality .even at the start he was looking for a beating and now also. He would be best not give him any weapon just magic.

a staff like Sun Wukong who can change his weight and height?

I think it's going to be a scythe given how he can contract with banshees.
