I understood. Well, I wanted to make sure the protagonist doesn't have the memories from the books, so he can live and make friends naturally. Knowing the plot type forces you to make a decision about whether or not to change the canon. I want him to interfere in the story, but as something natural, as the moment a new look at the canon choices comes up, things change even if subtly.
JohnWicksPencil:I personally don’t have an opinion about that but a recommendation would be someone who only saw mabye like 3 movies of Harry Potter and dosen’t know the whole plot. If you go with the first option you would have to already know if you’re going to interfere with cannon and when. Some writers are too wishy washy on even talking to the golden trio but later realize you HAVE to include them in the story. The second option would be great but you would have to either write ALOT more than some people would be willing to. Any possible powers or abilities would need to come from a source you’re familiar with.
maybe make a symbol that Is hidden on another one. like for every one Else that sees the club symbol they would see some sort prank like Dumbledor would see the peverell symbol. while for the ones that belong to the club It would change into something that only they can see. i think that a sphinx is great . the symbolize knowlege and its pursuit.
