This heist arc was really sub-par. From the beginning, as a reader, we knew Asher wasn't getting caught at this point in the story. First of all, trying to build tension with a heist subplot in a regressor story is moronic. The timeline hasn't diverged enough for the gala security protocols to have majorly changed. So to spice things up, his identity was exposed at the last second to a low credibility source, Louis. He has a mask, but no contacts? This is a futuristic, magical world, but Asher, a meticulous regressor, failed to keep his identity secret. He also implicated his family by exposing his red eyes. but dont worry they're still indifferent, even when his secrets as a regressor are beginning to unravel. BTW, I predict plot armor, alibis, etc will shield Asher. in the short term, while Louis flies off the rails trying to convince the world of his guilt. Cant have the Academy Arc interrupted prematurely.....
