Thinking about it it would almost be socially required to hire an enforcer or a free magi to do investigations into threats to his family since to do otherwise would leave open a vulnerability to exploit by other magi. I really do think our mc would logically hire someone from the moonlit world to do that investigation in the interest of speed and accuracy since certain magi specialize in information extraction. Anyways if his waifu dies I'm probably just gonna stop reading this just saying if someone could slip into the Barthomeloi property or get past the guards his sister will inevitably put on her it would both be far too cliche and a charachter break, and most importantly I'll simply be dissapointed in our mc enough to not want to continue.
