I'm really of the opinion that he should gtfo to the end of the known world. Abiding by the whims of cruel and petty monarchs is a stupid thing to do. He has a dragon. Leaving ain't that hard. Becoming a squire for Chad Thundercock is only going to get him more involved into messy royal affairs.

Have to agree with others, right now it makes no sense for the MC to stay in Westeros. Right now the most logical thing for him to do his leave for Essos and set up a seat of power for himself there. At least until the Dance of Dragons starts and then he can come back after all the dragons have killed each other and claim the Iron Throne if that's his goal

I also agree with others that he should just leave westeros. He has ambition, but he has no connections in westeros that would keep him.
