i think vars was a good "villain" ultimately he's more of an anti hero, as in the end his goal was very noble he only went through it with as said in previous chapters of the book "cold calculated logic" and I think had Vars taken a different approach when dealing with arad and gojo, i could see a timeline where they help him rather than just have the wool thrown over their eyes at the last second.
