1.Author you are dragging this over the limit. It's turning into Boruto and Naruto anime with too much fillers. 2. In anime luffy is a idiot. But he is a fighting protoge. The fact that you are making him struggle so much is making him seem a lesser version of the original. 3. I would suggest a time skip. Because although the novel story potential is good. Fillers can ruin everything, we learned that from Naruto anime.
A filler is not just that. A filler is also putting things that are irrelevant or just dragging things that really don’t contribute to the main story. It’s also where readers are begging for time skip but author wants to drag thing and shove chapters down their throat so that he can write few extra chapters at cost of quality over quantity.
illegal_incognito:it aint really a filler if we are in the present, a filler is like a backstory, or a deviation from the main story line, looking at it in this book and not as a fanfic, this is a main story and not filler
I disagree, luffy is a synesthetic prodigy, his battle iq is enormous, talented in all hakis (mainly the conqueror's haki and following it the weapons haki), physique of the D lineage of the strongest in my opinion. I don't see any of that (I see the trailer but not luffy's strengths). Maybe I'm wrong and it's just my perception
