Why not kill both of them and show the might of a celestial dragon? You can take the smoke fruit and give it to... daddy masterson or a sharp shooter or a member of the vinsmoke family... I suddenly have an idea why not the character who has the smoke logia could basically do some ingeniering and fight with steam punk thing ( replace vapor to smoke to function) and add to that the protagonist moves of infamous second son?
