The MC and Marceline becoming vampires basically guarantees their separation from the humans. Sure, they might be allowed on the boat since they saved them, but humans get old and die. In one or two generations, if it even takes that long, the humans will start to suspect and isolate the two monsters in living with them. It's only a matter of time before they're tossed out. It'd be best if they just stayed behind.
