Hmmmmm... feeling conflicted that Val's working on a weapon that would revolutionize warfare in this world.

Yay for inventing a new way to create mass destruction... I'm sorely disappointed he ended up working with the guns and I can't tell how badly I want to skip these parts :( I get he didn't get out much, but if he got his hands on enough materials to understand some of the basic workings of guns then he should also understand why something with great firepower that anyone can use is a bad idea. If Valmeier's kingdom somehow managed to put their greedy paws on it, it would be a disaster... My personal gripes aside with these scenes of Val being an ignorant child, the book as a whole is great, so keep going Author!
