One of the things I never considered before was the mandatory action of keeping a couple of Pokémon always out of their pokeball. While it always seemed stupid to me because it means another mouth to feed and seemed less efficient (forcing your Pokémon to run around all day when they could be sitting in a genie lamp; they’d be less fresh when you need them for battle), I can’t help but think it’s smarter to always have Pokémon out. Look at Ash’s journey for how many times his pokeballs were stolen, he was jumped, or he was captured. I really like how paranoid this MC is.
