Booggie
I see where your coming from but you also need to see it from an outside prospective. It’s not like Morpheus could show up secretly several days later and create some ritual or ward to help him. He was on their territory surrounded unable to apparate to reposition and gain a advantage, he could have either brute forced the situation and yes he would have killed a lot of them but he would have been injured far more heavily. Or he could tactically retreat and deal with the vampires in one swift motion. IF the meeting was on different grounds and not on a territory with enstinsive wards that eliminate the main agility/movement of wizards then he could have won easily. I personally don’t think this makes him look weak at all, he has not lived for so long by just blindly fighting. He has been preparing for the overall war in which he has previously worked with the vampires for years and they never did him wrong this was a betrayal he will deal with swiftly and ruthlessly. They didn’t chase him for several reasons but one is because Vlad knew once Morpheus was outside of the castle Morpheus would be holding the upper hand. The situation in this chapter was through a literal kill zone designed to end Morpheus which he thwarted.
Skill_Top:He expected this outcome, so why didn’t he prepare properly? Yes, he is an ancient wizard, why was he able to pull out an ancient spell from his hadnitsa? When the magical creatures have now united, he will have no time to prepare at all? What has he been doing for thousands of years? Why are they afraid of him at all if he is afraid of clashing with some several vampires and several golems
