There is too much luck involved in all your battles and not enough strategy, especially for someone from the future facing some ignorant lords. He should be wining will overwhelming force, because of his advanced troops, weapons, and strategy. Luck should be the last thing he needs. Also he’s not using the Roman style leagions the right way, you said they were best at fighting in complex strategy’s and terrains, but so far they only fight in the same old way.
I kindda agree with you. But you forgot that Alex was not military commander in his past life, although he know the theory but he never practice it in real life until now. And from this arc, I saw that Alex being bit cocky and overconfident. He forgot that there are people in this world that have mastered the art of warfare. In this chapter I think that it is not entirely his fault, it just that he met formidable opponent this time
