The main problem is the mental effects of chaos. If he fixes that, then he'll have time to research a full cure. The library may just be an in-game map, but in the world of SoulsBorn it's one of the largest repositories of knowledge in existence. And it would be amazing to see the MC mounted on the Quelaag going into battle. The benefits of saving these people are huge, but the biggest one is mental/psychological. That kind of thing should help a lot in the state of the MC. More people means more friends to help him out when he eventually goes crazy (I have a feeling it might happen)
