In his defence Carol both in the comics and MCU had destroyed couple large alien spacecrafts that could be considered mountain ish in size. So no one can blame him for thinking that she can stop him.

He should let himself be arrested and then demand that they feed him properly or else it would be a human rights violation. They would either have to solve world hunger or let him go. Whichever is faster.
