i believe Ikaris only could use magic inside the goblin because the goblin didnt know how to protect himself. Jake used the telecinese to control the neurons from the animals in the 2rd ordeal that didnt have spirit body/Soul but only could control the brain of the giant dinosaur after he pushed the dinosaur spirit body out of the body
