While this old lady seems sad and even mad about the auction, before she recounted her tale she laughed. That seems a bit...inconsistent? I thought she was laughing at the omega's fate. Maybe if she laughed bitterly instead, to convey how she felt before starting her story, it might make her seem more sympathetic.
