How high is David's physical strength atm? I feel like it's definitely high up and combined with his insane training and martial arts, sports master must have at least several broken bones and internal bleeding no? No matter how wonky yj is with power levels, sportsmaster doesn't have superhuman powers. He's way above even trained athletes and he most likely knows how to take as little damage as possible when he does get hit which explains how he goes toe to toe with superhumans but the mc's own training would definitely make up for that. What I'm saying is it would make more sense that he retreated because of the solid hits the mc got on him (which caused injuries like broken bones, internal damage and so on) he was forced to flee like he did. He's just too tough to show it and put up a front and is trained enough to power through them while he escapes. ...that or the mc was pulling his punches like superman does, but I liked the first option better
