Now that everyone who is someone is awakening their devil fruits I'm sure we never read of Enel fighting just with his unawakened fruit to an extent where he was pushed to the limit besides from the very beginning of the story. That's what this story has been lacking honestly it's like now Enel just jumps straight to thinking of using awakening right off the bat. The author always tried to have Enel improve on his devil fruit but we never saw the fruit of that hardly any fights worth mentioning feels like show Enel had more techniques in his short time. Overall story is going alright though a very slow pacing.
