well. considering darkseid is practically the most conceptually evil and power big bad of DC and Marvel other than maybe black winter. it's not surprising to see him being a challenge. only things more powerful would be the concepts like death, or living tribunal and OAA level stuff. maybe Lucifer Morningstar deciding to fight mark for giggles.

As a conceptual being it makes sense for Darkseid to powerup in response to a threat, although I'm pretty sure that Mr. Miracle is also a conceptual being and his concept was escape, so shouldn't he be able to have escaped?
