Dorothea can definitely be forgiven. She's not a hateful woman, she's hurt. She lashed out at Vernon when he was a child out of pain, not spite. Similar to what he did to Chloe initially.

Dorothea seems not bad it's just hef failed marriage, her husband's abuse, cheating and all made her like this.. she got into depression and to make herself happy or take revenge on Vaughan she started to spend his money... she started to consume alcohol and other drugs which made her like this and that is the also reason she started beating Vernon in the influence of the alcohol... she ignored all the things in her depression and we all know that a person in depression can't think straight so if now she wants to mend things between her, Chloe and Vernon then i think she deserves a chance..
