Vernon has every right to say what he said. He is caring enough to know he could hurt Chloe though. I would be interested to know if Dorothea was an abused child as well as in marriage. This could have made her the monster she turned into. If she could realize what damage she did to little Vernon and apologize sincerely to him it may help heal him, if he will let her and believes her. It will take a miracle though.
Vernon absolutely has every right to be angry with his mother. He has every right to never trust and/or forgive her. She did and said horrendous things to him when he was a small child and needed her most! It doesn't matter that She regrets it now. Even if She's sober now and has Changed, that doesn't change What happened with Vernon or even Vincent. It still happened and She hasn't done much to redeem herself or do right by Vernon beyond get sober and realize the Son She favored is a sick perverse Monster. The only thing Vernon is wrong about here is Allowing his rage to take over to the point he started hurting Chloe. And I have to disagree with the notion that forgiving his Mother will help him heal. No. It won't. That's like saying forgiving Vincent would help Chloe heal. The only difference being Vincent somehow thinks he can keep getting away with it because in his mind his lot in life is that the world will always bend to his will. Forgiveness is not the same as making peace with the fact that your needs were not met, that the people who were supposed to protect you, Wouldn't, couldn't, were going through their own thing, And /or were actively Seeking to Hurt you. Just because someone has a bad story does not mean they deserve forgiveness from the people they hurt because they were hurting.
Yes, of course his anger is justified but only forgiveness can set his heart free... If she's truly trying to change - and there's lots of reasons to be leary of her intentions but I think she's too important to the healing process to not give her a chance to change if she's really trying. I hope she's genuine & I hope Chloe feels her out, & she becomes an ally she'd be instrumental in taking Vincent down...
Vernon rage is justified in his place At the same time ,i also acknowlege dorothea 's week mental stature resulted due to her abuse by her husband n gray family. people differ in their strengths n weakness. while dorothea is strong in building social circle in high class society n daring to spoil herself in drugs etc., but weak in dealing with her own kid, Chloe is too weak to show up and stand out for herself but strong in her love for Mackie. i pity her for what dorothea has undergone for she found solace in drugs n drinks.perhaps Vernon is the outcome of her late husband's cruel forceful mating that made her hate its fruit.she might have felt helpless n hopeless or she might have had post partum depression n Vaughn Gray's abuse further worsened her condition to the extent that she abused her own child,Vernon.but it also makes me wonder how caring she was with Vincent.she failed as a mother for showing indifference to one of her children .she even failed as a mother for being ignorant towards daughter in law. however Vernon can't forget how much hate his mom carried towards him and howmuch he was deprived from mothers love n care n the amount of abuse he survived during his childhood. he doesn't carry any kind of emotional attachment for his mother .so his action is justifiable.
Vernon's anger is totally justified.. whatever he has gone through as a child it's justified his behaviour towards Dorothea... though Dorothea is going through her marital issues, it does not give her any right to abuse her child and tell him whatever she wants... Being a mother she should have understood how her behaviour and her actions can affect her children very much... just like how she told Vincent that getting beaten by her husband is normal, there is no problem in this and her this word and seeing his father cheating and abusing his mother makes him believe that it's ok..
what should i say dorothea chloe nd vernon they all r victim bt i didn't support dorothea whatever she did with vernon was all wrong in my opinion if dorothea ever cared vernon he wouldn't be lik that nd she ignored chloe completely dorothea husband cheated her nd she ignore her all responesbility she was a mother so whatever vernon said is justified
Yes Dot abused Vernon just because her husband didn’t want Vernon. She took out her frustration’s out on Vernon. Vincent was the favorite special son. Vernon has every right to not love his mom or care how she feels now about being sorry and wants to apologize after 10 years for how she treated him while growing up.
