Comments of chapter undefined of Cursed Immortality

I still don't understand why there is mercenary ranks and strength test when there are gun and anyone can just pull a trigger. Guns in a fantasy novel are so dumb. A liitle kid could have killed that wolf king if it died with 2 shots of a rifle. Why did they even run away. Could have just unloaded on the wolf pack now that I'm thinking about it.
