I don't think that nux will be able to reach such power as vyrina if he keeps disregarding the system and how he is able to cultivate and advance. if he wants to one day with all his wives stand above vyrina and the order, he needs to really come to the conclusion that embracing the system at least until they are able to get to a certain threshold of power would be wise. but I also think that if vyrina was taken or not would either give him some more "reasons" to his mind in doing what she wants him to do, but I also want nux to stand at the very pinnacle of power, or to be "absolute" in anything without the possiblity of being weaker than someone and I do think rune needs to understand nux isn't like other men.
