I'm okay with character development and improvement. But, making the Mc have almost no positive characteristics makes it unlikable. He needs to at least have some redeeming qualities to him. For example, a hardworking Mc that lacks talent. I honestly can't imagine this Mc having a professional football career. He couldn't even solve a simple problem as 2 hours of gym time. The only thing that going for him is having a girlfriend at this point.
