I'm still on the fence about this novel, I don't mind Noah's backstory and I find it understandable that he ended messed up from all the abuse, but I find it a bit ironic that he became a (monster) human chimera when the people abusing him acted more like monsters than, I can see how Noah because of the abuse made him disconnect from being human or stop caring, considering the rewards from the system are targeted towards the individual it would be interesting to see some of the people who abused him get some choices that reflect their actions and not their appearance, I am a little disappointed that Noah abandoned his humanity, not from a physical perspective I think the chimera thing is interesting, but from a mental perspective I hope he catches himself before he looses all of his humanity, I know he was abused and doesn't have any good memories from humans but it would become what he hates, not like I expect him to abuse people.
